How does GoraAdv plan offroad routes?

GoraAdv uses OpenStreetMap data and a custom Bicycle-Mountain routing engine that prefers dirt tracks, gravel roads and forest paths over paved roads. Every segment is classified into terrain tiers (T1 Dirt Track, T2 Gravel, T3 Unpaved Road, T4 Paved Road, T5 Highway) and the router maximises T1-T3 while minimising T4-T5. Routes are calculated automatically — no manual drawing required.

Is GoraAdv free?

Route planning is free forever — including all tools like elevation profiles, fuel-range planning, multi-day trip splitting, hotel and campsite POI search. The only paid feature is GPX file download. New visitors get 2 free GPX downloads (one as guest, one after email-verified signup). After that, downloads cost credits sold in bundles that never expire. No subscription. Pricing is in beta.

What bike do I need to ride GoraAdv routes?

Any adventure or dual-sport motorcycle works well on T2-T5 terrain (gravel, unpaved roads, paved roads). T1 sections (rougher dirt tracks, forest paths) are better suited to lighter dual-sport or enduro bikes. Tire choice matters — knobby or 50/50 tires perform much better on loose surfaces.

How do I get a GoraAdv route onto my GPS device or phone?

GoraAdv exports standard GPX files that work with every major GPS device and navigation app: Garmin (Zumo, Montana, XT, Tread, etc.), TomTom Rider, plus phone apps like OsmAnd, Komoot, Wikiloc and Locus Map. Garmin users can transfer via USB or wirelessly with the Garmin Explore app. The GPX file includes layered metadata so icons (fuel, hotels, fords) display correctly across all apps.

Can GoraAdv plan multi-day adventure trips?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Set a maximum daily distance and GoraAdv automatically splits the route into days, places day-end markers, and lets you search for hotels, campsites, fuel stations and mechanics near each day stop. The per-day GPX export creates one file per day for easy device upload.

Does GoraAdv require an account?

Accepted Answer

No account required for route planning, all tools, or sharing routes with up to 12 friends. An account is needed only to save routes to your profile (free, up to 5 saved routes) and to track GPX download credits across devices.
